Learning management systems (LMSs) are complex and sophisticated platforms packed with bucket loads of features. They're not just simple course builders. In fact, they're more about as the name suggests, everything on a technical level to manage online learning. From reporting, to engagement tracking, to automated communications, to segmenting, tagging, class management, rubric writing, gradebooks, mobile apps...wow, the list just goes on doesn't it? Ok, so now we're going to speak about all of these features with artificial intelligence. Well not all of them, but there are some LMSs already injecting AI into their platform in a way which we believe does improve the LMS functionality. After testing out a bunch of LMSs which claim to use AI, these are the top 5 that we identified. 1. Coursebox
Coursebox is the leading AI powered learning management system using generative AI to build courses rapidly with options to generate quizzes, course text, assignments, and grading rubrics with AI. It can actually be upgraded to a white label LMS which is pretty cool. Coursebox also offers LTI integrations meaning you can easily build a course in Coursebox and then embed it in your existing LMS with full analytics and tracking integrations across the two platforms!
LearnWorlds is a course creation and online learning platform targeting course creators who want to sell their courses. They have some great AI writing options within the platform built on top of a lot of built out features within their LMS. It's a great option if you're looking for an all in one selling course solution and you're ok with just an AI writer as compared to the Coursebox AI quiz and assignment generator on top of the automatic stock image selection and AI document trainer.
LearnUpon seems to have a big vision and dream of turning their existing LMS into an AI powered LMS. It still seems to be in the works, but it's one to definitely keep an eye on. Similar to Learnworlds, they have started integrating AI more in the course builder part but we have to commend their early vision for how AI could take learning management to a whole new level.
Absorb LMS is a big player in the LMS world. They're a more premium and expensive option for larger organisations. While they've dabbled into AI generation of courses, they've moved a bit more conservatively compared to the other LMSs on this list. With a huge amount of resources to throw behind AI though, they're certainly one to watch out for.
Paradiso is another LMS that has created an in built ai course generator that has basic functionality to write course content, but seems to be jumping into become an AI powered platform. This sits within their existing learning management system. Paradiso also offers a learning experience platform and course authoring tool that they are integrating with AI features.
Overall, these are the best 5 options we've found among LMSs using AI. We've seen others out there too but these are the five that are most ahead in the game of putting AI in learning management.
