Run cohorts as groups, track every member in one place

A group is a space that runs alongside your courses, with its own feed, its own members and its own events. One might hold a live webinar, a mentoring programme, or a paid membership community, and you can enrol everyone in it into a course without building the list again.

  • Publish a group as public, private, or paid membership
  • Bulk import members from a CSV, or add them one at a time
  • Enrol an entire group into a course from the course enrolments panel
  • Members, Collaborators and Owner roles, with a join date on every row
  • Advanced reporting with filters and CSV export

Badges, leaderboards and pathways

When someone finishes a module, the points and the badge are awarded automatically. Nobody has to tick anything off a list, and learners see it update as they go.

  • Points awarded as learners finish modules and pass quizzes
  • Leaderboards and rankings, so a cohort can see who is ahead
  • Progress bars and levels that show how much is left to go
  • Pathways that chain courses into the order you want them taken
  • Certificates issued on completion, carrying your branding

Events, RSVPs and a shared calendar

An event is a dated post, so it turns up alongside everything else the group is doing rather than in a separate calendar invite.

  • Post an event to the group feed and members RSVP in place
  • An email broadcast goes out to every member when you publish it
  • Calendar with the date, the time, the attendee list and reminders
  • Attendance exported to CSV next to participation

A community that looks like your organisation, not ours

The branding controls cover the group spaces and member profiles, not only the course pages.

  • Your own domain or subdomain across the whole portal
  • Your logo, colours and fonts on login, courses and group pages
  • Branded email notifications when a member is tagged in a question

Questions answered by your people, or the AI tutor

The Questions section is a forum inside the portal, sitting next to the courses rather than in a separate tool. Anyone in the group can post.

  • Tag a question with a topic hashtag so it stays searchable later
  • @mention a colleague and they get an email notification
  • Answer with text, an image or a file attachment
  • Assign a question to a named person with Manage Assignees
  • An AI tutor trained on your course answers at any hour

Trainers on what changed after Coursebox

Coursebox is a great LMS. It’s easy to use and can assist in creating courses.

Social learning LMS questions

Groups are part of the branded LMS layer, so they need a Pro plus LMS, Business or Enterprise plan. Your account also needs Admin status with your user set to Approved Admin, or the Create a group button will not appear. The Questions and Answers forum sits on those same plans.

Open the course, click the Enrolments icon in the top toolbar, switch to the Groups tab and click Add group. Search the group by name and confirm, and every member of that group is enrolled at once. The group’s own Courses tab then lists everything its members can open.

Yes. Members can open another person’s profile, message them, and follow each other. If you would rather keep conversation in the open, run it through group posts and the Questions forum instead, where an answer stays searchable under its topic hashtag rather than sitting in one person’s inbox.

Yes. Connect Stripe first, then set a membership fee and currency on the group and add any GST or VAT percentage. Publish it as a Paid Membership group and the monthly price appears as a badge under the group title. With no payment product linked, the group shows Request Access instead.

Yes. Tick Anyone can post to let members contribute, or leave it off so only admins publish. You can set how often email broadcasts go out, choose whether all users or only admins receive updates by default, and require members to accept your terms before they join.
